SMC supplied Inspection Technicians to SHL

 

Specialist Marine Consultants Ltd (SMC) supplied Inspection Technicians to the Beatrice Offshore Windfarm Ltd (BOWL) project for Seaway Heavy Lifting (SHL).

SHL are the Foundation Principal Contractor for BOWL. It is their responsibility to install the jacket foundations across the project.

The Windfarm is located in the Moray Firth approximately 13km from Wick and will consist of 84 Siemens Gamesa 7.0-154 turbines.

Once fully operational – it will be Scotland’s largest offshore windfarm and is estimated to power 450,000 homes annually.

The Inspection Technician Team that SMC supplied to SHL undertook inspections of the switchgear within each Transition Piece to ensure optimum performance and longevity.
