Point marine division assists project to refit luxury yacht with new A60 doors and watertight doors and hatches

Point Engineering Marine Division is working with the Shemara Refit team of marine engineers and designers involved in refitting the luxury yacht built in 1938. The contract includes the design, manufacture and supply of a full ship set of doors and hatches.

Our skills, knowledge and history of involvement in this type of project spans more than 30 years. The last 8 years of this under the Point Engineering banner following the acquisition of Dollco Doors in 2004.

Meeting the demands of special requirements to comply with fire resistance and watertightness can take some considerable design time to complete. Our A60 doors and hatches, weathertight doors and watertight door products are used as the base line for tailoring to suit the refit of the vessel. Attention is given to the style and finish while ensuring the end product also meets the compliance demands of maritime rules and regulations.

The quality of the design and manufacture of our Point Engineering products is controlled through an established ISO9001:2008 Quality Management System approved by Lloyds Register QA. This system also includes and complies with the Marine Equipment Directive certified by DNV. Testing and certification of the marine equipment on this contract is provided by DNV.
