Tata Steel has teamed up with one the UK’s leading marine engineering and energy organisations as they both target the UK’s growing offshore wind turbine market.
Joining Team Humber Marine Alliance, which represents more than 140 companies from around the Humber region, will allow Tata Steel to build on the significant investment it has put into new equipment and machinery at its Scunthorpe facilities.

Siemens and Associated British Ports' plans for a £210m wind turbine facility at Green Port Hull will stimulate interest in the Humber's other enterprise zones, according to Team Humber Marine Alliance director Mark O'Reilly. ABP and Siemens have submitted applications to Hull City Council for the development of the proposed facility. The project is expected to create 700 jobs and complete in 2014. READ MORE...

Siemens was today reported to be formally submitting an application to build the factory at the city’s Alexandra Dock, at a site called Green Port Hull. If the plans, which are being jointly submitted with port operator Associated British Ports, are approved next year, the development could be operational by the end of 2014. The factory would assemble turbines, destined for huge wind farms in the North Sea, and employ about 700 people.
