Mock Interview Days
It’s that time of year again when the LMI Humber are working in partnership with Sirius Academy North and Sirius Academy West to organise a series Mock Interview days for their year 11 students for the following dates:
- 10th December 2018 – Sirius North
- 11th December 2018 – Sirius North
- 17th December 2018 – Sirius West
- 18th December 2018 – Sirius West
- 19th December 2018 – Sirius West
The purpose of the mock interview days is to help young people prepare for further education and job interviews. We are looking for volunteers who would be happy to spend a day at either school interviewing students and providing them with feedback. It’s a great opportunity for the students to practice their interview skills and gain valuable insight from real employers and it could also be used as a staff development exercise for those who want to brush up on their interviewing techniques.
Each year 11 student will be interviewed for 10 –minutes using a series of predetermined questions relating to employability skills, then the student will ask you the employer a series of questions to gather labour market information and find out about the job you do and then you will have the opportunity to feedback to the student on how they performed in the interview.
The day will begin with a briefing session at 8:30am and the interviews will take place from 9am to 3pm, with lunch and rest breaks. I do not expect that you would be able to help out on all of the dates but if you are able to make one day that would be very much appreciated.
